BASIC WEDDING CAKE INFORMATION 

 It is quite common to be unsure of what one wants in a wedding cake. It is my job to help you better understand how a wedding cake comes together so we can find the look, taste, and personality to match your dream wedding cake.

How to Build a Wedding Cake:

-Each wedding cake is divided into tiers, classically 2-5 tiers per cake. The amount of tiers on your wedding cake will depend upon the amount of guests you will have on your wedding and also upon the design of the cake.

-Each tier typically has 2 layers. Between each layer of cake you can choose a flavor of filling.  Also, if desired you can have different cake and filling in each tier. Your cake can be as complex or simple as you like!

Wedding Cake Pricing:

Grounded Wedding Cake prices start at $500/cake or $6.50/slice depending on the size of your wedding party. The wedding cake price will then vary or increase in price depending on your choice of flavors, design, and overall complexity of your wedding cake.

The Procedure

At first we will need know the date of your wedding as to make we still have availability. We are happy to accommodate clients with rapidly approaching weddings but to increase the likelihood of availability, we recommend you contact us a year in advance. However, if your date/season is popular consider making arrangements as soon as possible. 

In order to secure your wedding cake date with Grounded a $400 booking fee is required. This booking fee will later be retracted from the final cost of your wedding cake. If for some reason the wedding date needs to be moved the booking fee can be transferred to another date, granted it is still available.

Tastings:If living within driving distance to Grounded, our Clients tends to want to try our cakes in advance as to best being able to envision their wedding cake not only the design but also flavor and textures of their wedding cake. Grounded currently offers wedding Cake tastings for pick up only. You will be requested choose your flavor combinations at latest one week from date of pick up and then given pricing based up on choices given. Generally “one set” ( 1 cake, 1 filling and 1 coverup) starts at $25/set.  

 Submitting as much information as you can of your wedding details, such as colors, flower arrangements, themes, budgets etc. as possible will help us have a good starting point in understanding the nature, hopes, and dreams for your wedding day. This will help us, help you, creating a beautiful, elegant, and delicious wedding cake that naturally compliments the tone of your wedding. Together we can now custom design a wedding cake that suits all your needs. Once we have tweaked the flavors, design, and every last bit of detail to arrive at the cake of your dreams, we will if you wish, sign a wedding cake contract.
